FAQ
How frequent are updates and what’s the schedule like for new pages?
Deep breath… okay bear with me here. There is no schedule, yet. There might not ever be. When I started creating comics I told myself that I wanted to make something different, something unique. It’s my goal to create comics that are not only entertaining to read, but fun to look at as well. I am a huge stickler for high quality art and I legitimately want to create something that you can have fun looking at over and over.
I understand there is an expectation to adhere to reliable schedules for webcomic releases and to update as quickly as one can, but I’ve never been one to adhere to expectations other than my own. Updates will be made whenever new pages are ready.
You may find it inconvenient to visit or refresh the site in search of new pages. In that case I recommend you subscribe to the RSS feed. How long will Hot Shit High be?
Hot Shit High was only ever intended to be a one-off comic for fun. Finding interesting ways to expand the story has been rewarding for me but I don’t intend to draw it out just for the sake of doing so. The story will likely come to a close by the end of chapter 3 or 4.
After that I have another story in the works…
Why is Hot Shit High set in high school, and not college?
Probably because it’s my most relevant school experience. High school is a wild time and a really unique moment in a young adult’s life. Most of us are coming to grips with who we are and what we really want during this time. It’s also a time of sexual discovery, intense passions, and uncontrollable desires. I think it’s the perfect setting for a story like mine. The characters in Hot Shit High are mostly late bloomers, frustrated by pent-up sex drives in the latter half of their senior year. All of the characters in Hot Shit High are 18 years of age or older.
Why are your comics in Black and White?
There are a couple of reasons. The first is that it’s just easier and faster for me to work in black and white since I’m colorblind and very cautious with my coloring process. The second is because I really enjoy the look of screentoned manga and doujinshi. The dot matrix and texture combined with black ink creates a really striking look that I fell in love with a long time ago. It is a simple, but challenging technique to master and I enjoy working with it.
Will you ever create color comics?
I intend to eventually. We’ll see what happens after I finish Hot Shit High.
Do you take commissions?
Not at this time. Commissions are closed for the foreseeable future as I continue to focus on my comic and illustration work. I greatly appreciate your interest however, and if commissions should ever open up in the future I’ll be sure to post about it wherever you can find me online.
Ok, then how about an art trade, or a request?
No. Sorry!
